Privacy Policy
Gift4Gains helps people create shared gifting pages for events and meaningful goals. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you.

Information we collect
We collect information you give us, information created when you use Gift4Gains, and limited technical information.
Account information
When you sign up, you provide your first name, email address, and a password. Sign-in is handled by Memberstack, which also assigns the account identifier we use to connect your recipients and events to your account. Basic details about your recipients, such as their names and any Ugift codes, are also kept in your Memberstack account record so your dashboard can display them.
Recipient and event information
Account holders can add recipients and create events. This can include a recipient’s name, an event name and date, what the gifts are for, an optional photo, an optional Ugift code, and an optional custom message for the gift page.
Contribution information
When someone contributes, we collect their name and email address, the amount, whether they chose to disclose that amount, and any optional message, GIF, or short video they add. We also store details about the contribution, such as the event it belongs to, its payment status (for example pending, paid, or failed), the payment method type (card or bank), fees, and timestamps. We may keep information someone submits before checkout even if they do not complete the payment.
Payment information
Payments are processed by Stripe. Card and bank details are entered on Stripe’s checkout page, and we do not receive or store full card or bank account numbers. To receive a payout, an account holder connects a payout account through Stripe and provides the required details to Stripe directly. When we create a checkout or a payout account, we pass the contributor’s or account holder’s email address to Stripe. We store the identifiers and status information we need to operate the service, such as Stripe checkout, payment, and transfer identifiers, the connected account identifier, and onboarding and payout status.
Technical information
Like most websites, our site and the services we use receive technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, device and operating system, screen size, and the pages you view. Memberstack stores a session identifier in your browser’s local storage and may use cookies to keep you signed in. Our service providers may also keep technical logs for security and troubleshooting.
How we use information
We use information to:
- provide and operate Gift4Gains;
- authenticate users and keep accounts secure;
- create recipients and events and show gift pages;
- process contributions and coordinate payouts;
- show contributor information to authorized event owners when appropriate;
- send transactional and service emails, such as contribution confirmations and event or payout notices;
- prevent abuse and fraud;
- troubleshoot, maintain, and improve the reliability of the service; and
- comply with legal obligations.
We do not currently use information collected through Gift4Gains for advertising.
How information is shared
We share information with service providers that help us operate Gift4Gains. The providers we currently use include:
- Stripe processes payments and payouts and handles connected payout accounts.
- Memberstack provides account sign-in and member accounts.
- Supabase provides the database, file storage, and server functions that store and process event, contribution, and media information.
- Webflow hosts our website.
- Resend sends our service emails.
- Cloudflare Turnstile helps protect our forms from automated abuse.
- Google Fonts supplies the fonts used on our pages, which means your browser requests font files from Google.
What others can see
- Gift pages. Anyone with an event’s link can open its gift page. The page can show the event name and date, the recipient’s name, what the gifts are for, any custom message, and the event photo. Only share event links with people you want to see this information.
- Contributor details. Contributor names, emails, messages, and media are not shown on the public gift page.
- Event owners. Before an event’s payout has been sent, the event owner sees only the total raised and the number of contributions. After the payout has been sent, the event owner can see each contributor’s name, message, and any GIF or video. A contributor’s amount is shown to the event owner only if the contributor chose to disclose it, although it is still counted in the event total. Contributor email addresses are not shown to event owners.
We may also disclose information when we believe it is required by law or necessary to protect the security of Gift4Gains, our users, or others.
Payments
Stripe processes card and bank payment information. Stripe’s own privacy practices apply to the information Stripe processes. You can read them in Stripe’s privacy policy (opens in a new tab).
Gift4Gains receives only the transaction and payment information needed to operate its contribution and payout flow, such as amounts, payment status, and Stripe identifiers.
Photos, GIFs, videos and messages
Creators may add a photo to an event. Contributors may optionally add a message, a GIF, or a short video. We store and process this content to provide the event experience.
Event photos and contributor media are kept in private storage and are shown using temporary links. If an event photo is replaced, we try to remove the earlier file. Recording a video uses your device’s camera, and your browser asks for your permission first.
Please only upload or submit content you have the right to share.
Information about recipients
Account holders may provide information about another person, including a child, when creating a recipient or event. Please only provide information, photos, or other content that you are authorized to share.
Gift4Gains accounts are intended to be created and managed by adults. We do not currently verify the age of a recipient or an account holder’s authorization to share information about them.
Data retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide Gift4Gains, maintain transaction and payout records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the service. Some information may remain in backups, transaction records, or third-party systems for longer periods where required or reasonably necessary.
Your choices
- Contributors choose whether to disclose their gift amount to the event owner.
- Contributors choose whether to add a message, GIF, or video.
- Account holders choose what recipient and event information, photo, and gift-page message to add.
- You can use your browser settings to control cookies and local storage, although some features, such as staying signed in, may not work as expected.
To ask about accessing, correcting, or deleting information, or with any other privacy question, contact us at info@gift4gains.com. We may need to retain certain transaction, security, or legal records even after a request.
Security
We use service providers and technical safeguards designed to protect information. For example, payment credentials are handled by Stripe, and event photos and contributor media are kept in private storage. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Third-party services and links
Gift4Gains uses third-party services and may link to external sites, including external 529 and Ugift resources. Those services and sites have their own privacy policies, which govern how they handle information.
Links are provided for convenience. Gift4Gains is not affiliated with any 529 plan.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Gift4Gains changes. When we do, we’ll update the “Last updated” date on this page.
